| Not much progress made on the pantry project today. This evening before bedtime I was able to put a coat of stain on the soon to be shelves. I'm hoping the color combinations work well. The paint was in the mis-tinted discount bin at Wal-Mart. The stain was leftover from an island creation when we first moved into this house. Here is a sneak peak of some of the work being done and of course, my super awesome cute helper. |  |

 Less than a week ago I decided to start a project I've been planning for quite some time. When this house was built they put a "closet" on one end of the kitchen. We've used it as the pantry it was intended to be however functionally, it has been a disaster. We had a shelf hanging on the wall that stuck out about 12-15 inches which was great for storing food and such however that made access to the 2-foot deep shelves on each end. Things got lost. You know...just found a box of hamburger helper that expired 2 years ago...type of lost. So in a moment of craziness the pantry project began.
