I even made a bunch of extra *dots* since I know we'll lose a few.  And check out those colors!  What kid wouldn't like all those exciting colors to choose from.
This is a project that I started some time ago.  It's a little work/school/project center I created for the boys.  Out of necessity I made a schedule/chart thing to keep us...okay mainly me...on task during the school year.  Ryan's teacher requested the parents read a book every night and work on a few other things too.  I figured a schedule would ensure we actually did the things we need to do each evening.  Poor Ryan is a task oriented kid and I should have done this years ago but I'm not as much organized as I'd like to think i am.  Ryan LOVES the chart.  He has already found a flaw in the morning section (yellow).  It "needs" a TV time.  As for the afternoon/evening (green) it is unpermissable to deviate from the schedule without proper excuse.  After the kids complete a task they can put a dot/square up next to the task.  Ryan really gets into it.  Evan...couldn't care any less at this point.

The pantry project is over 1/2 completed.  But it has come to a halt.  I'm out of paint, out of wood, out of money (for this project), and out of time.  School is about to start so this project may be a *fall break*, *Thanksgiving break* or even *Christmas break* project.  It's beautiful already though.  AND SO FUNCTIONAL!  I love it already.

On the flip side of things related to projects...I found this gem at a local estate sale this past weekend.  I LOVE it.  It makes me want to keep an eye open for more hanging/chain/swag lights.

I finally got a few shelves hung in the pantry.  I think it's going to look great.  Unfortunately school is about to start and this project is taking much longer than I anticipated.  It looks like my kitchen/pantry is going to be torn up for a lot longer than I originally planned.  I need some elves to come finish my project like they helped with the shoemaker's shoes.

Not much progress made on the pantry project today. This evening before bedtime I was able to put a coat of stain on the soon to be shelves.  I'm hoping the color combinations work well.  The paint was in the mis-tinted discount bin at Wal-Mart.  The stain was leftover from an island creation when we first moved into this house.

Here is a sneak peak of some of the work being done and of course, my super awesome cute helper.

Less than a week ago I decided to start a project I've been planning for quite some time.  When this house was built they put a "closet" on one end of the kitchen.  We've used it as the pantry it was intended to be however functionally, it has been a disaster.  We had a shelf hanging on the wall that stuck out about 12-15 inches which was great for storing food and such however that made access to the 2-foot deep shelves on each end.  Things got lost.  You know...just found a box of hamburger helper that expired 2 years ago...type of lost.

So in a moment of craziness the pantry project began.

Ryan sure did enjoy the demolition.

So did Evan.
